Privacy Policy

Certolino (“the app”) is developed by Vastocielo LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”). This policy explains how the app handles your information. The short version: Certolino has no servers and no access to your data. What you enter stays on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud account — not with us.

Information we collect

None that reaches us. Certolino has no accounts to sign up for, no login, and no servers of our own. We do not collect personal information, we do not track you, and we do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking services.

What the app stores, and where

To do its job, Certolino saves the information you enter — your license details (such as your state, license type, and renewal date), the continuing-education courses you log (title, provider, hours, category, and completion date), any certificate documents you attach, and your app preferences (such as your reminder settings).

This information is stored on your device and, when you are signed in to iCloud, backed up and synced across your own Apple devices using Apple’s iCloud (CloudKit) private database. It lives in your private iCloud account. Vastocielo cannot see, access, or retrieve it — a private CloudKit database is readable only by you, on your own Apple ID. Apple’s handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy, not this one. If you disable iCloud, your data simply stays on your device.

Certificate photos and documents

Certolino lets you attach a certificate to a logged course by scanning it with your camera, choosing a photo, or picking a file. When you scan, the app uses your device camera and Apple’s on-device document scanner to capture the page; when you choose a photo or file, you select exactly which item to import. The resulting document is stored the same way as your other data (on your device / your private iCloud, as described above). Certificate images and documents are never sent to Vastocielo.

On-device processing

Some features read the text on a certificate to help fill in course details for you. Any such reading is performed entirely on your device using Apple’s built-in frameworks. The certificate and its contents are not transmitted anywhere, and the results are shown to you to review and edit before anything is saved.

Reminders and notifications

Certolino schedules renewal reminders using local notifications on your device. These are calculated and stored on your device from your own license and course data. There is no push server, and no notification data is sent to us.

Purchases

If Certolino offers a paid subscription or in-app purchase, all purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store using Apple’s systems. We do not collect, see, or store your payment information. Apple handles the transaction under Apple’s own privacy policy, and your purchase status is stored as described above.

Children’s privacy

Certolino is a professional tool intended for licensed practitioners and is not directed to children. Because the app collects no data for us, it collects none from children.

Links to other services

The app may contain links that open outside of Certolino — for example, to the App Store, to your device Settings, or to this policy and our terms in your browser. Once you leave the app, the privacy practices of those services apply, not this policy.

Your control over your data

Because your data lives on your device and in your own iCloud, you are in control of it. You can edit or delete individual courses and certificates at any time, and Certolino’s Settings include an “Erase all data” option that removes your license and logged courses from the app. Deleting the app removes its on-device data; data held in your iCloud is managed by you under your Apple account.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will post the revised version at this URL with an updated effective date. Any update will appear here.
